Ever had anything chucked at you while on the bike?
I had the glorious experience of a) riding through Bradford late at night shortly followed by b) having an EGG thrown at me. The utter feckwit that threw it must have only been a few feet away so it hit my tankbag with as much force as an egg can muster and thus exploded all over it and my leathers. Even reached the mirror on the other side. I was not amused to say the least. It was a bit of a shock but I'd only just pulled out of a junction so going slow enough for them not to miss, grrrrr :smt067
Don't like Bradford any more. Not that I did much in the first place! Anyone else ever been egged? Or had worse thrown at them? |

Brother had a drunk thrown at him.
He was being chucked out of a pub with too much enthusiasm and end up on top of my brother as he passed the Joiners arms in Chorley on a scooter lent to him as his bike was off the road. He thanked them for improving the scooter. |

A lump of very hard rubbish flicked up off of the wife's rear tyre while following her down the motorway. What ever it was hit me so hard on the right arm, my hand went numb for about half an hour and I had to pull over because I could not feel the throttle or front brake! Thankfully, I was just about to pass a services and was able to pull in.

Countless women. I occasionally stop for the hot ones but the others ones... pah, they're beneath me.

Yes, both myself and Matt used to have weekly summer encounters with young asian kids chucking stuff at us on the way to and from work. Riding through predominantly asian areas of Halifax to get to work on a weekend was like running the gauntlet, and unfortunately sometimes unavoidable.
Anything from small stones to water bombs. Bearing in mind the journey was always around teatime and when its fun in the sun for the kids, its not really fun when you are the target :( I've been on buses during school holidays through the same areas, and they regularly chuck water bombs at those too. |
