Oil color as indication of change interval

I couldn't find any definitive answer after running a couple of queries through the forum search function, so I apologize in advance if this is a duplicate thread.

The over-arching question is whether oil color indicates whether you should or should not change the oil. Every time I've changed the engine oil in the past, it has been black. My current oil is full-synthetic Motorex that is as clear as the day it came out of the bottle, about 5,000 miles ago. The only new oil I have is a non-synthetic that I'd like to use, but I'm worried that I'm doing more damage to the engine by changing out a clear full-synthetic for a mineral.

Should I change the oil?

Apart from keeping bits of metal apart from each other, oil carries horrible bits(carbon etc) to the filter and the only sure way to see is send a sample of oil to the lab and get it tested, saying that i have never had clean oil after about 5 seconds of starting any bike i have had.
I`d leave it for a bit

If i were you i'd keep it either fully synthetic or at very least semi-synthetic , they may be slightly more expensive but they do what they say on the tin .
