2003 SV650 pointy Spares/repairs

Needs new front and left side plastics rears are ok, radiator, oil cooler and left hand rearset. Lowsided at about 70mph about 3 hours ago. Some small knicks and scratches on the frame and light dents in the tank which could be fillered and painted over. Looking for £1000 no offers. Could be fixed up for around £600 which is what I will be doing in the meantime if it doesn't sell. Just a shot in the dark to see if anyone is immediately interested- no flaming pleaaase :)

Extras: professionally fitted datatool system 3, alphadot markings, scottoiler and whats left of the lower fairings- the right one lol

Hi,
Whereabouts are you based?

Based in Birmingham. Had a more detailed look at it today.

To make it a streetfighter all that needs doing is:
New radiator £50
left rearset, peg and linkage £30
lights £30
clutch lever £10
filler/paint minor dents in tank £100 or £30 in your garden
left grip/bar end £10
indicators: £10

Obviously to make it fully faired/half faired add the nose cone/dash and left fairing which will come to less than £200, silver is one of the most common colours.

This is only on here for a short time only as I'm starting a job fairly soon meaning I could have it up and running within the month

This isn't a flame, it's a reality check.

Your bike is trashed, it's going to cost a damn sight more than 600 quid to get it to look anything like as good as one that could be bought for less money, with the added bonus that the other bike won't have been effectively written off at some point in its life. Have you had the forks checked for straightness... and the frame... and anything else that may have been expensively bent in a 70mph off? I'll bet not.

Get real with the pricing, or be honest about the reason why you want to sell it so badly - the people on this forum aren't mugs and there are enough of us around to tell anyone not to pay near retail money for a bike that is f**ked.

Forks are straight, frame is straight just some superficial scratches and knicks- I've seen bikes dropped at a standstill with worse marks on the frame and I was exaggerating about the 70mph (my mistake, I'd be dead considering I wasn't wearing gear if it was 70) the bike slid in to the grass and didn't flip, it was more like 30 by the time i braked in. I've put in the parts that need replacing with genuine quotes from somebody breaking a bike. If you don't want to buy it then don't, I've stated that I am going to fix it up shortly if it doesn't sell. I think £1000 is reasonable and if you don't think so and nobody else does, fantastic, I'll do it up when I have the cash. I'll put up some more pictures tomorrow since I've removed the damaged fairings, puts everything a lot clearer. I'm going to university soon so I'll either sell it now or the end of my first year.

Liked this thread! Blew my engine up today, it seems, and wondered how much I might get spares or repair.

not going to lie to you mate, i paid shall we say a fair amount less for my 2005 sv650s with 9500 full service history every receipt that's ever gone on the bike. Fair enough i did have to paint a fair amount of it as it had been dropped at donnington but it had not scratches on the frame or anything and had all been checked by a fully qualified technition .
