Re: 33bhp restricted ecu
Is there anyway to visually tell if you have a restricted or full power ECU? Having just bought the bike i'd assume its got a full power one fitted but you never know!

Re: 33bhp restricted ecu
Accelerate hard, if it seems to strain at about 6000-6500 revs, then it's restricted, if not, it's full power. Restricted will also struggle between 90-100mph where as the full power will only start struggling at about 120mph (indicated).
Hope this helps. Regards Phil |
Re: 33bhp restricted ecu
Hmmm hard to tell, I'm used to a more powerful bike so the sv already feels a bit sedate. However I didn't notice it holding back between 6-6.5k. I think doing 80mph in top saw about 6.5k revs, sound about right?

Re: 33bhp restricted ecu
It doesn't affect the revs at a given speed, just the actual acceleration and top speed, due to restricting the revs. Find a private test track and see if you can get over 100 easily! The other way to tell is to lift the tank and get the part number of the ECU, then check using the ancient art of GoogleFu! I would find it very unlikely that it is restricted, as the seller would have told you or removed it and replaced the original if it had been restricted.
