Wind noise on my Shoei

I'm looking at getting a new lid as I done over 100 miles on Saturday and ended up with one hell of a head ache.

Any reconmendations on a quite lid I've got around £250 tospend so loads to choose from.

Do you use earplugs?

Schuberth are meant to be quiet, but possibly outside your budget, and I found I didn't have a Schuberth shaped head

Roof are pretty good and around that price. I have a Diversion but always wear earplugs anyway. Still get low frequency wind 'booming' from the neck line but never found a helmet that didn't. Very little high frequency wind noise though.
Check out reviews on webikeworld as they rate noise levels on all helmets.

It's all about proper fitting earplugs. My Shoei is as quiet as a mouse, so long as I get a decent seal on my plugs, otherwise it's a pain.

I use foam plugs and put them in backwards - usually works great.

If it fits, a Shoei Qwest might be just the ticket. I went from a Schuberth S1 to a Qwest, it's much lighter (nice), very much better ventilation (nice), better visor (nice) with Pinlock, pretty much the same noise levels though I always wear plugs anyway (pardon), probably better finish quality (also nice). Only downside is the Schuberth internal sunvisor was nice (nice).

Various offers around will have you one for around £240 (plain) I think, maybe a touch less.

Also if it's your thing, the Qwest has built-in round plastic cup thingies to accept helmet speakers, which happened to be exactly the right size to take the units I use which were robbed from some old Sony DJ headphones (mmmmmmmmmmm, niiiiiiiiice).

Have a look at bmw for schuberth made helmets..otherwise recommend http://www.ultimateear.com/asp/contact.asp as there are cheaper than a new lid and then you can keep your existing one. I bought mine at the bike show at excel.
