New arrivals

Here's Dorothy and Clucky, our two new chickens:

Many will remember that Dorothy was also my daughter's cat that was killed on the road outside our house. Sophie named the chickens. We had tears.

Re: New arrivals

They're not that old, about 3 weeks I guess, they think that Sophie is their mum:lol: Breed? I think a Suffolk-Warren cross. Does that make sense? We got them from a place in west Shropshire, they're nearly Welsh!!!

Re: New arrivals

Was it the rare breed poultry place at Onibury near Ludlow?

Suffolks are an old breed, Warrens are factory bred egg machines.

Then I dunno exactly Pete... the mother is a Suffolk, no idea about the dad except to say he was a fine looking lad, strutting his stuff:D

No not from Onibury, from a farm at West Felton. Very much free range, I don't think much has changed since the 1950s:lol:
