Another Triumph convert

After a trouble free year with the SV it is being part-exed against a yellow (the fastest colour aparantly) Daytona 650....

http://www.motorcyclesforsaleuk.co.u...cc-650-cc.aspx

I pick it up on sunday and any hints and tips to keep it shiny side up are welcome, it seams to 'fit' me better than the SV and suprisingly to me it feels about the same weight (it looks massive compaired to the SV)... At first I will be taking it really easy because they have fitted new tyres (Dunlop Qualifier 2's)

That white rim tape is already on the hit list...

And another one sees the light, welcome to the Triumph Org mate, as for tips on keeping it shiny, don't crash and or don't ride it, which with those few miles on it is obviously what the previous owner/s believed in ;)

I have done 9K+ on the SV in 12 months... When rideing is so much fun then why wouldn't you?

I am not sorry I swapped, biggest laugh of the day though was the sales guy checking the horn on the SV, after wheeling it inside (Stabel Nautilus) what he called me was not 'U' rated:smt001

That exhaust looks bog standard but I think it is the Triumph race can, someone has removed the badge but there is no way the bog standard one is that loud:grin:

It draws a crowd too, lost count of the number of people who wanted a chat about it.

Down side... Datatool allarm, no chain oiler, thats it.

nice choice, the engine is the best of that range, love the styling, I couldn't live with the seat and would need it re-profiling, I'd probably ditch the rim tape and flag thing to, but otherwise, yeah....nice.

Cheers Mark.

Re: Another Triumph convert

Rim tape is growing on me, the SV had it too but i'm not so sure about it being white. The flag nose is part of the reason I bought it, it was done to celebrate the sucess of the 600 on track with the Valmoto team.

The seat, there is a gel version out there but as standard I find it comfortable, it is 15mm higher than the pointy SV though. That sounds like nothing but it does make a differance.

Oh I'm well aware of the flag thing and why they done it, it's just a little to much for my taste, I've tried both the comfort (Gel) seat and the standard, the S4 benefits from a lovely flat seat, the Daytona is angled towards the tank just enough to make you slide into it and put weight on your arms, I though initially it wasn't that bad, but after about 2 hour in the saddle it became very noticable to me, not a hard or expensive job though and it wouldn't put me off getting one at some point.

Cheers Mark.
