Reg/Recs - Curvy vs Pointy

Hi,

It looks like my rec/reg's knackered :o. Well it lasted me 10 years, I can't be too narked at that.

Anyway, I'm looking online at getting a replacement and it seems ppl advertise that the pointy and curvy ones aren't compatible. But they look the same to me.

Can anyone confirm that they're different models and/or a pointy one won't do just fine on a curvy?

On a related note, if anyone can suggest somewhere to get a cheapish new one from (why do they seem so overpriced for what they are?), that's also cool!

Cheers.

Connectors are different but they do the same job.

You could fit either. Personally I would look for MOSFET built upgrade one if you are intending on keeping bike.

Cheers. That makes sense, then.

I did look into upgrading the reg rec, but my thinking was that the last one's lasted 10 years and 40k miles and that's more than enough for a stock part, though I know I probably did better than most with that.

I ain't ever selling the bike. It's more valuable to me than the money I'd ever get from it .
