But the old classic has to be the guy pretending to be the Sheriff and wanting to interview the caller because of a murder that took place. Hearing the panic was hilarious.

I don't think that I am a very nice person having given this some thought! ;-)

Try and sell them somwthing back. That's what I have done when they have been persistent as I hate just hanging up.

So...I say that there is a lot of background noise and that my company sells headsets that help eliminate the noise so that calls are clearer, would they like to put me through to a manager to discuss a trial.

They ALWAYS hang up :-)

I used to get the same company asking about claims at least twice a week, they always asked to speak with my Father first.

One day I just told them "Oh sorry last week he was ravaged by a bear in north Canada"

The response was "I'm sorry for your loss sir, thank you for your time" haven't had them phone back in over a month now :D

Best thing I have done is pretend it is not my house and turn away from phone as if talking to someone and tell them to leave the computer but take the tv and look for any jewellery then say to caller that you will leave a message for the owner of the house when they get back.
