Who's going to be grabbing SW:tOR when it comes out around Christmas?

Ok, so its World of Warcraft with Lightsabers - but did I mention Lightsabers?

Anyway reason for asking is that they have started the ball rolling on the Guild system, and I need 3 other people who have pre-ordered to join my Guild or it wont make the cut.

So, any Virtual Jedi out there looking to play, and willing to join up?

Nope, played a month of beta a little while back, while its fun for a while its got no longevity in it whatsoever and is very repetative, even for an mmo

Not to mention overpriced, I'll probably play it once it goes free to play in a year or two after everyone realises just to complete some of the storyline I didn't finish though ;)

I didn't think there had been a Beta for tOR yet, how long ago was it?

There have been numerous closed beta tests going on over the last 18 months or so, maybe even longer, I was lucky enough to get into one of the batches for a month back in july/august

They're inviting more and more people in now, most of the guild I used to play other mmo's with have cancelled their preorders since trying it... the ones who haven't are only going to play it because its starwars and/or swg is closing down

Lucasarts / EA are banking on those guys to break even on box sales

Unfortunately, EA has decided it needs to make all its games the equivalent of a Michael Bay movie - looks spectacular and in your imagination it should be awesome but ultimately very very shallow. NFS, Mass Effect, Battlefield, and now this. The space combat is on rails, isn't it?

When you've got Guild Wars 2 coming next year, I wouldn't bother.
