It is losing air so my questions are

Would you trust the repair

Thanks for looking

Wouldn't want to try any lean angles in the wet on those tyres.

I had this happen to my front rim. It was not as bad as that but still it was a nice dent. There was a thread about it but cant rember were it is.

The thing I found trying to get it fixed is no one wants anything to do with it . As when they bash it back it might crack which you can't see. They don't wanna be the ones that made you wheel disintergrate with you on the bike.

It also costs a lot of money as they want to get it X- rayed to make sure it's not all cracked.

Best bet is the org shopping center or eBay.

I think I was looking at around £150 - £200 to get my wheel fixed and I just ended up buying one off the org for £60 needed a paint job but that was cheap all in all cost me just under £100.

yep sorry forgot to mention it is a honda cbr1000rr 08
having it straightened would concern me when on the track
although at the minute with crimbo just around the corner money is tight to say the least
I am having trouble finding a used one so far too
Cheers for all the replies so far

Keep an eye on eBay for a new one. Kind of out of season now though for breaker sport bike parts.

If you know where it happened take a photo of the pot hole (inc. depth, width etc) and the damage and send to the council. I think they're obliged to rectify if the pot hole is bad enough.

Might sound a bit archaic but I'd be tempted to get it knocked back in and then just get the rear wheel balanced to check it's back in the right place. Then as long as the air isn't bleeding out then you're golden.

Or there's always the option of replacing the 'orrible 3 spoke enkei's with some marchesini's!!

That is Not advice I would follow on a cast wheel! A steel car wheel, yeah no problem but cast metals are known crack and then fail after a heavy impact, sods law means that will happen at the worst possible moment and the OP has said he takes the bike on track so it would either fail then or when the tyre was being changed and it popped onto the bead.

When you try to put a stubborn bead on with a lot of psi is not a good time to discover a wheel has previously been repaired!
