Where to buy this connector?
1 Attachment(s)
Hi,
I'm trying to find this part for my SV650 K3 (see the attachement). It is connector that goes from main ignition cable. One of the wires in the old one melted into the plastic. I tried to extract it in order to clean it, but I broke the plastic while doing that. Does anyone know where I could buy one of these? |

First try Suzuki, the other option is Ebay or here http://easternbeaver.com/Main/Elec__...SMDL/smdl.html
though has a minimum charge. |

Common fault this. I would replaced mine with another waterproof connector that I got off ebay. it was a few years ago now but shoudl still be able to get one. Rather than a block, mine was 4 in a row and had some nice seals for each wire. Alternativly, solder and seal each wire directly. |

if you find a source I'd be interested in one too

Re: Where to buy this connector?
I'd use something a dab beefier than 2.2mm spades.
The original connector fails because unless the connect is perfect, the current requirements cause it to overheat. Vehicles are a bad place for electrical things - large variations in heat and humidity levels and lots of vibration. So while the connector should be well able to carry the necessary current, this exact failure is well known, and that's because maintaining a perfect connection is not easy. Use something a bit heavier. |

So long as its well sealed and a good connection, you wont get the melting as with stock connector. You could also get a single 2.8 Superseal connector and just isolate the one that affected. thats the only one with high current through it. Here is where I got mine. http://www.autoelectricsupplies.co.u.../43/category/7 |
