Insurance Co Thing - Anyone ever heard of this?
My wife has just had a call from her insurance company asking her to go on a conference call with them and the DVLA to check her details are all correct.
Apparently they chose new customers at random to select and verify details with the DVLA. My wife hung up as it just sounded unusual and phoned me. I've told her not to answer the phone again and absolutely not to authorise the DVLA to give out details to this person on the end of the phone. Anyone ver come across this before? I've never had to do it in 10 years of driving and I've never heard of anyone else having to do it either. Just sounds dodgy to me. |

I always get arssy with people like this "Hi I'm calling from o2, can you confirm your name, address and date of birth please?"
You rang me, you tell me who you are and what you know about me?? Prolly worth a call to DVLA to check if this is dodgy? Could be the beginnings of a new scam?? |

I get annoyed that I get calls from my bank.
To ensure we are talking to the right person can you give me the answers to the following security questions. NFC. My bank say they will never ask for them unless I call them. I know it is their insurance sales dept so a damm good way of cutting them off. |

Just spoke to the DVLA.
They say it has been known for insurance companies to try to get the DVLA onto a conference call but they never accept them. |
