Visor question.
 

Firstly, im sorry.

I know this should be posted in the section about biking gear but I need a pretty fast answer.

Im looking to buy a replacement visor for my hjc helmet. Its asking me if I want either:

Standard
Pinlock Ready
With Pinlock Insert

What do I need?!

The one on the helmet now does not have little holes in the sides of the visor as the picture shows on the website, http://www.racevisors.co.uk/category...genuine-hjc-09

Also, my existing visor does not fog up in the rain etc, so why would I need this pinlock thing? If I order the standard visor is it going to fog up meaning I need to buy a spray? Or shall I just buy the 'With Pinlock Insert' one (which I guess has it attatched?).

Any help will be great, thanks!!

Buy the pinlock ready one, and also buy the pinlock insert to go with it.

The pinlock ready visor already has the little pips to locate the pinlock insert.

The insert is the double glazing for the visor to stop it misting up, brilliant piece of kit, especially this time of year

The come in different shades, clear, tinted & yellow

But if your standard visor doesn't mist up now, then you can save money by not getting the pin lock system visor.

But if the replacement does, your a bit stuffed. You could buy the pinlock ready visor and only buy the insert if you need to.

Choices, choices, choices, so many choices :D

or just buy a standard visor and drill it when you want to add a pinlock,it only takes about 10 minutes to drill the visor and youll save a few pounds,and if the visor doesnt come pinlock ready from new then racevisors will only get some monkey to drill it before they send it out and it will mostlikely wont be drilled centeral as ive had them off them before

This is assuming your lid design works well with pinklock. My missus needs a crowbar to open her visor due to the increased depth.

This is the 1st year I've used a pinlock visor & I'm amazed at the difference, hardly any misting whatsoever. I would definitely recommend one.

My Pinlock insert went funny on me a few months ago. The inner face becmae sticky and got covered in dust which could only be washed off. Some of the water got under the insert and I had to remove it to clean that face too. Half the silicone layer stayed on the visor in a right mess and I could not dry the insert without getting water marks on it. Can still be used but it's not as clear as it should be. If your visor works OK without Pinlock I'd save your cash.
