OXFORD Bikemike3 rider to passenger intercom

The official description:

Oxford Bike Mike 3 Rider to Passenger Motorcycle Intercom System - One pack contains everything you'll ever need for safe, reliable communication. An advanced intercom system designed to be small and lightweight whilst giving excellent sound reproduction. The unit features low battery consumption, slim-line earpieces (with wind-reducing technology)to fit any helmet and an improved microphone for clear voice reproduction. A power adapter is supplied with the unit, for use on extended journeysor regular users, which also removes the need for batteries. A tiny, compact unit with volume control, mute button and personal stereo input. Power lead, extension leads, audio lead, belt clip and two batteries (one a spare) included Tested and works at real world speeds.

I bought it and installed it with the vision of using it to listen to music off of my phone on a long commute. I however haven't had the need to use it. It was brand new when I bought it for £55 3 months ago. As I've used one headset the sticky pads to secure it in to the helmet are obviously less sticky now. You should be able to secure this in to a new helmet with the aid of of some double sided tape.

Everything else is brand new.

i dont suppose theres much chance the intercom can be used bike to bike, as opposed to rider to passenger? Or do both headsets have to be plugged into the one 'unit'?
Also whats the volume like for the music? I wear a chill-out balaclava pretty much all the time when im riding, do you think the sound would get through?

Thanks

Unfortunately it is only rider to passenger intercom as they both need to be plugged in to the same intercom unit.

The volume goes pretty unbearably loud! I just tried it with my balaclava and it goes through that fine, obviously the wind noise will cause some distortion when riding at high speed (>70 MPH) though.
