Re: what tyres ???

tyres are individual choice i believe but if you look here

http://forums.sv650.org/forumdisplay.php?f=138

you will see what most people are using. Avons and Michelin PR's are very popular.

I am using Angels as my normal Rossos were out of stock. Not yet inspired by them. Seem a bit hard.

Loving my Bt-023's. Wet grip is fantastic as well.

When my first set of tyres ran out I changed to the Dunlop roadsmarts the front will last easily 8000miles and the rear 6000miles. I've done 20k since the first set and I wouldn't change them for anything else. The grip is brilliant both in the wet and dry.

Curse you and you ever so slightly too late comments! I'm booked in to get a pair of Angels tomorrow having read (virtually) nothing but good things about them. That said, I'm currently on the original Dunlop D220s which I hate with a vengeance but I was too tight to change whilst they still had rubber ... that said, they are now squared off to a right angle and have the wire coming through at the rear :smt011:oops: (I know, it's not clever) so I think anything is going to be a serious improvement!

£209 a pair for ride in/out didn't seem outrageous either. Besides, they apparently do some sort of novelty face changing thing which must be much more important than their handling, right?

Lol I think its time you get rid of those tyres. Even with tread the Dunlop 220 arnt at all confidence inspiring lol

The d220's on mine make it feel like the roads have permanent black ice, going around a roundabout in the wet at 20 mph gave my sphincter a good work out, I can't decide between angels, roadsmarts or bt 023's.
