Wild Camping

Alright folks, looking for locations (anywhere in scotland) that you have used and would recommend for wild camping on the bike.
River side, loch side, near public toilets etc.
all options considered.
Alternatively SUPER CHEAP camp sites, pubs or hotels that will let you camp in their grounds etc etc.

For example The Clachan in Fintry will let you camp behind the hotel (know you're gonna drink in the bar)

Thanks

The B797 between Wanlockhead and A76. There is a short stretch, like a little valley, next to a stream that seems very popular for wild camping. Right next to the road but is a very quiet road. The ground is pock marked with camp fire so i guess quite a few people use it.

loch tummel on the south side.

here is my favourite spot:

http://maps.google.co.uk/?ll=56.7102...05.14,,0,12.41

you have to get up there early on a friday if you want a good spot.

don't take wood from nearby trees (the locals go mental) as there is plenty further along that the forestry have cut down and left laying.

That was YOU?!

I'd have come over and had a beer had I known. I assumed it was a pikey and stayed away :joker:

Yeah, shut up, you'll make me jealous and have me riding up the M74 to join you.

Many moons ago we camped at the first hotel you come to after the Skye bridge.

Campside was opposite the hotel, good food & beer a short walk away

Campsite was alongside a small river

Sorry I can't be more specific, as it was many years ago

I love wild camping in Glen Etive, lovely river, nice scenery, only issue is no pub within walking distance. Let me know if people want Grid refs, I have a few at various points down the valley. Just be careful, the river can flood quite away up.... :)
