I've been stalking you - Newby

Firstly sorry if this is in the wrong place, the appears to not be an "introduce yourself" section on the forum.

Firstly hi all..

My nickname is Foz, I used to be a keen mountain biker but due to injures and time I don't get to do it as much as I can to justify the cost of the bikes I owned (about £5.5k's worth) so I sold them all and decided to put the money to buying a motorbike and learning.

So here I am with 8 days until my DAS tests and my chosen steed arrived this week.

I've cleaned it up a lot and added a fender extender and a V-system Scottoiler (I plan on using the bike to get to work 12 miles away)

I've stalked the forum while making my choice of bike as I like marks that have an active forum (I also own a Golf Mk4 which has an amazing forum / community) after passing my DAS.
I liked the looks and the SV was recommended as one of the best Post DAS bikes to start on. So here we are photos.

couple of questions while you look.
I have an alarm / immobiliser but no certificate. When insuring i have advised of the brand and model but has anyone ever been asked to produce a certificate of installation or anything similar?
The screen is that a none std item?

I'm Based in Kiddy
(p.s. I know I committed the worst sin possible and got a bike pre exam! :stupid:)
Thanks

Welcome.

Not such a sin - but it's far to clean! You need to pass that DAS and get some muck on it ;).

(and yes, looks standard except for the screen, the hugger, fender extender and removed grab rail).

Yes, I've been asked that recently, I'm with H&R Insurance/KGM. If they want one from you, maybe try getting a quote without the alarm (no idea what difference it makes on the price). Screen doesn't look standard.

Welcome and good luck with the test.

Welcome, nice and clean, looks as though you have "Helibars" fitted more upright riding position (might need insurance declaration).
Enjoy.

It's clean as i spent all day today cleaning it :)
Wops, sorry i fitted a rear hugger to when i was fitting the oiler.

I would like a cowl now, I may have to see what the OEM price is as red ones seam rare :(

I'm itching to get my DAS pass, all the gear - no idea and no licence :)

Icanopit - I've not noticed the bars being any different from other SV650's I've sat on. I'll look for a std setup in a photo and compare.

Thanks for all the nice welcomes.

Welcome to the forum sir. Nice looking bike mate. I too started on an SV after completing my DAS course back in 2009. You will have an uber fun on it.

Nice exhaust, tail tidy and a rear seat cowl should be on your wishlist :-)

Enjoy and good luck with the test etc
