Restricting a Pointy?
I've just purchased an Sv650s 2007 and am only 18, therefore I need to restrict it..
What's the best route to take in getting the restrictor fitted? is it a pricey job!? Ries |
Re: Help!
Get a 33bhp ECU on here or ebay.
5 minutes to fit yourself. |
Re: Help!
Is the certificate a legal requirement?
Cus skellerns Yamaha, were gunna charge £250!!! :O |
Re: Help!
No.
Some insurers require one, ask first, find an insurer that does not require one. Or one which will accept a dyno printout or something. Bikesure and Carole Nash I can personally attest did not require one. |
Re: Help!
No, if your bike is restricted you are legal. Have fun on your new bike!

Re: Help!
MCE - avoid.
& you don't need to tell your insurer that your restricted they know by your age already it's just in the event of a crash you have to prove it was fitted before the crash. (Touch wood you don't have one) Bennetts - aviod them when on a restricted licence, they make it look cheap then when you call they say. "We notice your meant to be restricted", they class it as a Modification & effects the bikes performace which they deem to be worthy of a £450 increase. Ohh if you choose bennetts, Remove any un-factory fitted stickers. :) |
