how to remove throttle bodies?
Can anyone tell me how to remove the throttle bodies? I'm trying to get the last piece of my 33bhp restrictor off but can't get to it without taking the throttle bodies off.

Re: how to remove throttle bodies
1st answer as always, get the official suzuki manual for engineers. it has a step by step guide for doing this.

You have to be meticulous messing with it. Take off seat. Disconnect battery. Lift tank up. Disconnect air filter connectors either side. Remove air filter housing. if you need to disconnect the high pressure fuel hose I did it at the tank. Surrounded by a big rag to catch the initial burst of fuel (think can of fizzy juice shook up being opened) and it draining out the throttle body from injectors. The bodies are connected to the top of the engine by screw clips underneath. When loosened you have to wiggle it off and pull it off at one end first when your almost there. If ive missed out something its because it aint straightforward for a first timer. You might damage something. Its worth tagging the connectors you pull out. Theres a couple on the throttle body and one on the fuel tank pump and two or three on the air housing. Theres also 3 rubber pipes to remove underneath. Ive already edited this post 3 times remembering Sh#t about the process of removing it. And this is why none wants to commit to a full post. It would be a waste of time when a pdf thats easily available tells it like it is - officially by suzuki. Please use the manual when you do it mate I dont want you to fk it up.
Dont let your eagerness get the better of you. Ive done that too many times and its ended up costing me. :( |
