XBOX Help #2
Thanks for the help in the other thread. What I did wrong in the other thread though (my bad) was asked too many questions in one go, so I'm still looking for an answer to the most important one, which is this:
Can I copy music, video and pictures, from my laptop and store them on the 250GB hard disk drive in my xbox? If so how? It can't be 'jtagged', I need to use standard Microsoft functionality. Thanks |
Re: XBOX Help #2
From my understanding of what alot of Xbox forums are saying the answer is " No, not unless you softmod/hardmod your Xbox ".
Then you just need the software to transfer the media from PC HDD to Xbox HDD However, if you do modify your Xbox and use Xboxlive, you could brick it. Alternative maybe to get an external HDD and transfer everything from PC to that, then stream to Xbox. ( Don't know if that would work, but cannot see why not ). Ste. |

Re: XBOX Help #2
I know you can copy music onto a memory stick and put it in the xbox and play, or you can rip them to a cd and copy from the cd(well you used to be able to)

I think I'm just going to buy a DLNA / uPNP compatible NAS device though and use that for backup storage and streaming content to the xbox or the TV. I plan to get a decent AV receiver and speakers, so the TV or Xbox can stream from the NAS, then feed audio to the AV receiver via HDMI. |
