Might be worth a trip past ribblehead viaduct.

Ribblehead is a good suggestion. Watch your speed on the A65, always unmarked cars operating on there.

Love the road up over the moors from lofthouse - might go do that one lunchtime this week while the weathers nicer.

Lakes wise the Hardknott / Wrynose passes are worth a look, but hard to work in an a loop including Barrow / South Lakes.

a couple of things to consider, firstly the crosthwaite rd in Keswick is close for repair until end of April (or so the sign says), so you'd have to take the High hill rd around that part, then we come to what sort of roads are you after ? personally I'd cut off the A595 at "Broad Oak" (first left after the bridge) towards "Mill gate" follow that until it takes you back to theA595 at Dutton bridge then turn onto smithy ln up to Ulpha (rather than follow the A595) and on to do both of the passes (Hardknott/wrynoise) rather than the Burrow loop, that'll add a bit more than just plan A rounds, of course if that's all you want, then your route is fine.

Cheers Mark.

where that route turns off the A595 (bridge wood), stay on it for about another mile to broad oak, where you'll see a sign for Corney 2 miles and Broughton 10 miles going left and uphill (also it's a 6'6" width restriction)take that left, that willgive you that road as well as up smithy ln from dutton bridge through Ulpha, both cracking roads, before you tackle the passes.

Cheers Mark.

Could I be a pain and ask you to show me on the map?

Potential problem, I'll be using my Galaxy S 2 and google maps for navigation as this accepts lost of way points etc, I don't think the coverage is going to be good though? anyone know what the mobile internet is like there?
