Helmet whistle and noise

Sorry if its posted in the wrong section but here goes..

Only been riding the last year and have alwats used my Tornado Karma helmet ( £50 bargain buy )which was light, a great fit and hot noisy at all and would do until i could splash out on a better make...

End of January i thought i would treat myself to a nice new lid so i bought myself an AGV stealth SV..

First impressions were light and more room around the ears..

Second impressions were found above 40mph.. when i move my head to a certain position there is a whistling in the helmet, also the wind noise is 10 fold what the Tornado helmet was..!!!

So much for more money equals better quality...
Where do i stand with returning it as its been a month since i purchased but only the second time i have worn it..?

Interesting as I'm thinking about buying one of those as my years old Foggy rep Shark RSR is now dieing a sorry death and will soon be retired... I have a Rossi rep AGV Titech which is noisy as hell but thats expected with a light race helmet.

I think I might try a test ride (if thats possible) with an Sv first!

I had a HJC Draco FG-14 which was very quiet and only cost £120 'ish. After my off, I bought an XR1000 Shoei which is noisier than a noisy thing.

Ear plugs are you friend

The AGV visor is adjustable so have a play with the adjustment

My S4 was noisy till I tightened up the visor fit.

My agv k4 has this problem but as said above, play with the visor fit. I regularly swap between clear and dark visor and normally need to fiddle at least once to get it right. Make sure the visor is snug against the rubber trim around the opening.

Phoned the shop today and they are willing to take the helmet bacl off me, don't see why i should fiddle with a reputable brand helmet..

Gonna try a shark helmet out

You need to fiddle with any helmet because your head is different to the "typical/average" head used to design the helmet. .. you need to adjust it to 'you' .
Does the lid have side pieces like the arai? I'm not familiar with your lids design; if it does have side pods, these are incredibly noisy, and cause all manner of whistles and draughts on my arai .. until you adjust it and wear ear plugs . Helmets with a flush fitting visor tend to be quieter IMO.

Google it, there seem to be a lot of people having the same issue with the Stealth SV

You've done well there, normally helmet returns are a big no no.

According to other forums it's been a known problem with the Stealth SV and retailers are being forced to take them back under sale of goods act as not fit for purpose
