Metzeler Z8
Haven't seen a discussion of these, so here goes.
I've liked the Z6 generally on other bikes, so decided to try the Z8 on my curvey SVS. Stocks appear to be pretty patchy, but ordered a pair for £200 delivered from Crossan in N.I. True to their word they were delivered in 2 working days. Had them fitted locally and have just put the bike back on the road from March so only have scrubbing mileage so far. Always difficult being objective going from worn (Bridge 020's) to new tyres, but FWIW... Experience so far is all positive. Totally neutral feel, tracks straight, no twitchies, no white lining, doesn't drop into corners. Most significant impression is that they are comfy, very smooth feeling ride, could possibly argue that the road surface feel is masked, but generally nice. I do very few miles on the SV so it'll take me all this summer season to see what the wear is like. Reports vary a bit but similar to Z6 wear sounds likely. The rear grooving goes a bit nearer the centre than on the Z6 so should make judging the remaining life a bit easier. Anyone else tried them? |
Re: Metzeler Z8
No, but I've liked my z6's since fitting them and I wouldn't have any issues with fitting these either.
