New Keeper slip and log book question.

Do you have to send in a new keepers supplement straight off?
Or is it fine to wait a bit till the New log book turns up .

the new keeper supplement is what you have in place of the V5 while you're waiting for the new v5 to arrive - don't send it anywhere, just retain it for taxing/if you get pulled.. It's the new keeper's details section which you're meant to post off.

How long ago did you buy the bike? The existing keeper is usually the one who sends in the new keeper details, as long as you've got the 'new keeper supplement', current valid insurance certificate and valid MOT certificate you can tax the bike at most central post offices..

My missus bought a ford ka 2 weeks ago, the new v5 just arrived yesterday so it's reasonably quick at the minute..

might be worth giving the bikeshop a quick ring to double check it's been posted? Still, you can tax the bike at the post office with your new keeper supplement (it's got a barcode on the right hand side - thats the bit the PO will scan)
