Pointy airbox onto a Curvy?
just out of curiosity, does anybody know whether the air box from the pointy will fit onto the curvy, and what might be needed to do this? cant find any posts of people trying this and was just a thought. in my dissertation at university, i'm designing and developing an after market performance air box and trumpets for a curvy and was just wondering as to if could try a pointy's one and maybe see the difference (good or bad) in power and use the info in my work :P
any help appreciated thanks :) |
Re: Pointy airbox onto a Curvy?
No. I suppose it's possible the lower section and filter could be modified and used, but the upper section of either fits quite closely with the underside of the tank, so wouldn't fit the other directly.

i was thinking because one uses TB's the other carbs, that the rubbers in the air box might be in a different place :P oh well ill just get hold of an old one and have a look and compare the two for position and volume etc. and let you know if i ever find an improvement from it :P
