John Carter Movie.
I feel i have to say something and get the opinion of the org. I went to see the above with my sister and my son and thoughly enjoyed it, but yesterday i read Disney is set to lose $200m in the first quarter of 2012, now correct me if I am wrong it was only out for 21 days of the first quarter and they expect it to make a big profit as the year progresses but they are reluctant to make a sequel to follow the story on.
Critics are saying it is boring and difficult to follow but i think these critics are a bunch of t*****s, surely these things are a matter of personal preference and if a 12 year old can follow it it can't be that hard. Special effects are very good and story does hold your attention I want to see what happens next but i want to see all three film versions before reading the books. |
Re: John Carter Movie.
According to IMDB it cost $250,000,000 to make and made only £2,000000 in its first weekend in the UK, not bad figures but I think they were expecting more.

Re: John Carter Movie.
Exactly in its first weekend just in the UK, what about rest of world, merchandise and eventual DVD sales?

Re: John Carter Movie.
They slate an awful lot of films that are great to somebody else. I really enjoyed The Last Airbender but apparently wasn't that good. I thought it was well worthy of a sequel, IIRC its part of a trilogy, but I've never heard or seen anything about one

Re: John Carter Movie.
Yeah I might have to invest in the books, I really enjoyed the film.
They don't account for the fact people can't afford to go cinema as often and tend to go when they get paid at the end of the month, |
Re: John Carter Movie.
Hasn't it always been the case that critics can make or break a film or especially a theatre production?
There are exceptions where the critics have panned it and the public loved it and the film/show was a roaring success but I can't think of them now. The article this morning panned it and the main reason it focused on was the title of film. It will never be a success because the title's not good enough....blah blah |
