Riding position on motorways?
Hi all,
Just a quick one please, looking for views on the best riding position on a motorway at 70-80mph. I have a fully faired SVS and have to use a 20mile stretch of the M11 often, tried a few different riding positions to help with the winds forces on the upper body/neck. Currently I'm going with head down just of the tank, elbows bent so they are almost touching my knees. Cheers |

Furry Muff. Im suprised you're having issues. I never used to feel much on my curvy..until I reached uber silly speeds. But I guess 20miles straight may be a bit tiresome.
Do you have to use the M11? Not a nice bendy route you could use? Just noticed you havent been riding long is that right? If so I'd say it'll take a wee bit of time for your muscles to build up. You'll probably stop noticing soon. |

You a tall lad Rob?
The tighter you tuck in the less you'll get battered about, you just look a proper nonce tucked in like you're riding the supersport when you're getting overtaken by a hybrid. |

I feel fine, done over 100miles round the local town and country roads to get used to a heavier bike and a bit more power. Don't have to use the M11 but the backroads are very bendy and are badly congested so would prefer the M11, less wear on the bike too. Cheers |

Not fussed what other people think when they pass me, just so long as I'm comfy :p I'll stay tucked in and hunkered down till I get a bit more used to it. Rob |

I used to get battered about being 6'1'' but could cope easy enough at those speeds, just a matter of getting used to it, only tucked in as you describe when properly hooning it ;)

Yer - matter of adapting. I wouldn't say I can't ride at these speeds just looking for the most comfy position. Cheers Rob |
