Hehe.

It's always nice passing an MOT, even when you are 99% sure there is nothing wrong.

I find it worse watching through a window, seeing the guy rubbing his chin and making those "Plumber doing an estimate" noises. You know the ones I mean. :-k

Although most of us whinge (as is our right  ) at expenses such as tax, insurance etc. MOT's are one of those that I don't mind as at least you have more confidence that your bike/car is pretty safe.

There is always something else that can fail later on, but when you fail an MOT it's usually because something potentially dangerous has been discovered, so personally I find that gives me some comfort when I am paying out for work done. I can still whinge though, it's good for the soul!

I once had a bike fail because it was to dirty. I had built up a film of dirt that hid most if not all of the letters on the number plate so the tester couldn't read it. I was given the option to clean it with a rag or he'd have to fail it. Begrudgingly I cleaned it. And then he failed it for having a cracked number plate. Can't blame him for it but I miss that dirt. It passed the next day with a new plate, but the joke was on him, I drilled the holes slightly skewed so it wasn't level...
