Bike starting without clutch?

Not an issue at all but for some reason my bike (2010 SV) now starts without having to hold the clutch in.
I thought all suzukis had to have the clutch pulled in when starting?

Not sure. I can start it in gear with the clutch pulled in.

Also just tested (very carefully) that it won't start in first without the clutch.

I also found out on the first day of DAS training that putting the stand down in gear cuts the engine. red faced or what. :smt018
