Music Ideas for a 60th...?
I've been handed the task of sorting out choons for a 60th birthday bash, only snag being the birthday boy is possibly the least musically bothered person on this earth.
It'll be a fairly mixed crowd, v. late 20's up to early 60's, mostly somewhere in the later end of that scale. So, I'm steering clear of anything too far either way, heavy/dancy etc and sticking with a fairly solid mix of 60's/70's rock/funky stuff. However, as much as I really like this sort of music, I'm not an expert in it and there's bound to be gems a plenty I'll be missing. So, come on then closet DJ's of the Org, throw your suggestions into the hat. Bonus points for sticking them in as YouTube links to save me cuttin' and pastin' |

DJ is always getting asked to do stuff like this by my dad, I am sure he will come up with loads of suggestions for you. I will see if he can send you some of his playlists. He hates doing them so he might be a little sarcastic about his choices, but they do go down well at parties.

Just had to do something similar for "grown-ups" party. The easiest was to sort about 2 days worth of music on an iPod and then just chuck it on shuffle. Playlist included:
a bit of ABBA a bit of Beatles a bit of 60's soul a bit of Neil Diamond a (carefully selected because most of it's ****) bit of 70's stuff a wide and varied selection of 80's odd bit of 90's & noughties a bit of everything basically If you want a list of all 800 odd tracks for inspiration, PM me and I'll email the list as an Excel file |

Not forgetting Brown Eyed Girl, The Who, a bit of Take That, Queen, Bon Jovi Living on a Prayer which people love for some reason, same goes for Madness. Then once you've got them all on the dance floor chuck on some Slipknot or Korn and see who's still dancing 30 seconds later!
