Pointy Stem Size?
 

Hey Guys.
I've bougth a GPS mount which uses the fork stem and has the 1" ball attachment thingy. What size do I need though?
- 13.3mm - 14.7mm (0.52" - 0.58")
- 15.0mm - 17.2mm (0.59" - 0.68")
- 17.5mm - 20.5mm (0.68" - 0.81")

Does that fit inside the end of the steering stem? If yes the dimension you need is the steering stem inner diameter. As you say it's the same as the second picture do you mean you have a different front end on your bike?

Yep. Fits inside the stem and has an expanding bolt.
Sorry. The second picture was just meant to show its location. I have standard pointy front end. I'd measure the tube myself but I'm waiting to get a bigger socket.

For anyone else looking. The correct term (in the Haynes manual) is the steering stem nut and the ID of the stem tube is 17mm.

I'm kind of in a similar situation and need some assistance.

I'm looking at buying a mount and case for the iPhone 5 and this mounts on the stem:

The seller requires that I specify the stem size; he has the following:

13.3mm - 14.7mm / 0.52" - 0.58"
15mm - 17.2mm / 0.59" - 0.68"
17.5mm - 20.5mm / 0.68" - 0.81"
20.5mm - 24.5mm / 0.80" - 0.97"

Does anyone know what the stem size is for the Curvy SV650s Y (2000)?

Can't help with the sizes but I certainly think you should give us some photos and a quick review when you get it, I'm looking at that particular thing myself
