SV650K3 valuation help please.
My friend's father has asked for my advice on selling his SV650 K3. It is a silver K3 (non-s) registered March 2004 with 7,320 miles on it. He has owned it from new and barely used it for the last few years. It was last serviced at 4,100 miles in 2006. He has asked should he get it serviced before selling it on and also put a full MOT on it? I'm guessing he probably should.
Any ideas on price please? I'm guessing by the other ones on the market that £2,000 is a ball park maybe a little more? Any help would be great. Thanks |
Re: Valuation Help please
As long as it is in good condition looks wise and not all rusty; £1900 as it stands, serviced up and with 12 months ticket ask £2,200 take £2k -£2100, that's ball park.

Re: Valuation Help please
Thanks very much for that, £2k and a bit was what i was guessing at. Yeah it is all in good condition as it's lived in a garage for all it's life, the bike is going as it never really got the use without the wife liking being on the back.
Thanks again. |
Re: Valuation Help please

Re: Valuation Help please
Bear in mind that I sold my K5 with just under 20k on the clock, with aftermarket exhaust and power commander, for £1550. It was only cosmetically scruffy and it took a few weeks for that level of interest

Re: SV650K3 valuation help please.
I got a K3 with 21k on the clock for £1700 a couple of weeks back.

Re: SV650K3 valuation help please.
Well my K5 went on here for £1,600 a few weeks ago. Had a fuel end can and everything else standard.
Price for a SV can vary depending on the person buying and those willing to pay what you want for it. |
Re: SV650K3 valuation help please.
I agree prices vary wildly but a few things are fairly constant, whether right or wrong, a bike not requiring an MOT (under 3 years old) will be seen as new(ish) the general consensus these days is anything over (or perceived as close) to 10k on a bike is high mileage, prices drop accordingly, just the way it is, I've been instumently in buying 11 bikes this year and looked at near twice that number, that's just how it is, across the forum it's slightly different and of course things like the recent weather and how much time you have are factors as well.

Re: SV650K3 valuation help please.
Thanks for all the replies guys. I think as Rictus says prices do seem to be at all extremes which is why I wanted to double check here. Some dealers have sold K3 bikes with 25k on for £2,100 and I have also seen K5 bikes with 20k on sold privately for £1,700. I think i will advise my friend's dad to start this at £2,200 and hope to get £2,000. After all this is a completely standard bike owned by one gentle owner is his 50's since new with only 7,000 genuine miles on. If he can find another similar type of purchaser who isn't after a jazzed up bike with bellypan/exhaust can/crash bobbins etc then he should get a decent price.
Thanks all. |
