Memory card for HD recording?

Hi all,

Sorry if this is the wrong place but I've got a gopro and it recommends using an SDHC card 32gb sandisk extreme class 10 30mbs write speed, does anyone know of a cheaper alternative?

Cheers

I usually get that sort of stuff from 7dayshop , usually fairly competitive pricing and 100% reliable in my experience. I've used their own branded memory items (usually cheaper) with no problems so far, no idea who actually makes them, probably all come out of the same few big factories in China I'd guess.

Yes, get class 10 for speed.

Also use 16gb cards, simply for the reason if the cards fails you lose less footage. Also as someone mentioned the battery on these cameras last about two hours.

I wouldn't bother with a 32gb unless you want to store videos on it for a while between charging.
The battery only lasts 2 hours so grab an extra battery as well.

To be honest with the cheaper cards you get what you pay for, ie easily corrupted and loss of data.

I got this 32GB high speed card for my Drift.

So far it's done a good job, although I occasionally have distortion blemishes on the recording. Maybe that's the cheapness showing through, but overall I'm happy with it.

It also comes with a USB card reader so you can take the disc out, plug it into the reader and plug it into your PC directly. I leave mine in the cam all the time though. Feels too flimsy to be messing about with it!
