Hyperpro progressive fork springs?
Hi there - I'm trying to identify a pair of progressive fork springs that I think are Hyperpro. They are around 460mm in length. Can any one confirm this for me please together with the recommended air gap and oil type. They are for a 2000 curvy. Many thanks.

Re: Hyperpro progressive fork springs?
From what you've said it's going to be tricky for anyone to say exactly what springs you have.
As for fork oil, answers range between 10w and 15w oil, and someone will almost certainly point you to this viscosity table to point out that not all bottles with 10w written on them contain fluid that's the same: http://www.peterverdone.com/wiki/ind...spension_Fluid For me personally with stock forks and slightly stiffer springs I found 10w to be a little soft, 15w to be a little harsh so mixed a bottle of each together and filled my forks with that, which I quite liked. Others would prefer their damping a little firmer, or softer and no one would be wrong. Personally, I'd stick with the stock air gap (which is somewhere around 110mm from memory, but this will possibly depend on if you have an SV650 or SV650S) unless you have a reason to change it. You will need a little less than 500ml per fork. Jambo |
Re: Hyperpro progressive fork springs?
Thanks Jambo - I realise the difficulties but I need to know the length of the Hyperpro progressives for curvy so that I can compare them with mine.

Re: Hyperpro progressive fork springs?
When I fitted mine they just exceeded the stock watch springs by about 30mm .
I used 20 w hyper pro oil.to hard for most but can live with it as it handle mutch better and brake harder |
Re: Hyperpro progressive fork springs?
It's beginning to look as though these springs are actually intended for the later pointy models.

Re: Hyperpro progressive fork springs?
Would not surprise me, maybe even hagon for pointy or something.
I would use RSF10 and 125mm |
Re: Hyperpro progressive fork springs?
Thanks Chris - food for thought.
