Now I have gone and done it......

Well the little SV is gone and I have just bought..........

X race (was racing last weekend in Thundersport Golden Era) YZF 750 with Ohlins forks and rear shock the posh aftermarket ones and a fettled engine too.

Its supposed to be ballistic and keeps up with R1's down the straights.

Think I wil take it a bit ginger at the next trackday.

No pictures as its looking sorry for its self but just ordered an R7 fairing and seat unit to go on.

Its gonna be sweet.........

Well ok started the build

Here is some before pictures

Sorting the seat unit first

http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o...IMAG0423-2.jpg

The back of the seat unit has been raised (put more weight on the front) and the lower rail has been moved up to flow with the line of the R7 seat unit.

Decided to make the battery box in alloy which will also double as a mount for the other electronics

Lining up the front has shown that the front subframe needs ditching and a bespoke one made this will also be used to mount R1 clocks.

Ok tail section now sorted with all the relays, CDI's etc all nicely tidied away

Tail section now on and lining up the front.

Starting to come together

http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o...IMAG0448-1.jpg

Need a screen to continue but an R7 screen is a special order from Skidmarx and a 2 1/2 week leadtime. Slidmarx were the only people who list them as far as I can see.

There is also a need to slice the corner off the radiator and reweld so the side of the fairings can come in.

Still lots to do............

Front subframe spars need to go in but also need the screen for that (special order 2 1/2 weeks :( ) that will lift the arms that support the screen up and it will look less er focused

I can't see the pics at work but my mate has the pinky/purple YZF750. It's on standard suspension but it is rapid and very sweet handling.

If you go on youtube there's an article with a YZF, old blade and a ZX something at Cadwell against a new GSXR1000 (it was a couple of years ago, K9 maybe). The YZF was by far the closest to the GSXR lap times than the other older bikes and within 2 seconds I think.

You is lucky :)
