Avoiding Bradford

I guess that's a good thing at any time, but hey ho! LOL

I'm in Skipton. Sat Nav bought me up the M62, up the M606, then right through the centre of Bradford, which was a complete ball ache.

What's the best route (in the congestion sensitive four wheeled cage) to avoid that going home tomorrow (M1 Southbound).

Thanks

Re: Avoiding Bradford

You're in Skipton looking to avoid Bradford on your way to the M1 south?

A59 East, to Harrogate
A661 To join M1 at Weatherby

A59's not a bad road and I'd highly recommend Fodders, eaten there a few times :)

Thanks guys! A59 via Harrogate going to be quicker than the A65 down towards Leeds and join the M1 at J45 then?

Re: Avoiding Bradford

I'd say so, it's a faster road in general, not so many little villages, plus the traffic closer to Leeds is worse.

Skipton, Halifax, Hudds, M1 nr Barnsley(j37 or is it 38)?

Whilst I know you've always wanted to kidnap me and keep me in your dungeon Dizz, it's too late, I'm home again.

Richie, you make a very good point there! There's no way I'd come to Yorkshire without all my jabs and immunisations up to date, that would be as silly as drinking canal water!

That route via Harrogate was much more pleasant (looks like a good biking road too). Thanks :thumleft:
