Mysterious ticking noise?
Hey I have a K3650 and recently I have noticed a sort of ticking noise as I progress through the revs. I can hear the noise as I pull away then it disappears, then returns at around 5 and a half. Anyone have had this mysterious ticking?

Re: Mysterious ticking noise?
I think my k3 does this sometimes, will check next time I ride it. I dont know what causes it though and it doesn't sound mechanical or affect the performance in any way.

Re: Mysterious ticking noise?
Do you have engine bars? A friends was just touching exhaust

Re: Mysterious ticking noise?
I used to have engine bars, but they've gone now, I agree with Aaron, it doesn't effect performance

Re: Mysterious ticking noise?
Search Cam Chain Tensioners or CCT's, perfectly normal for SV's to make this noise.

Re: Mysterious ticking noise?
I noticed a ticking noise on mine , usually when the throttle was open. I believe its to do with air valves (cant remember thier proper name) for the fuel mix and is perfectly normal.

Re: Mysterious ticking noise?
Sorry to comment on such a old thread... Just bought a k3 650 and I'm getting what can only be described as a chain slapping against a casing noise, between 4/5.5k on the revs. I'm thinking c t t... Can it be left or does it normally do this?

Re: Mysterious ticking noise?
When my CCT starts making a noise, roughly every 10k - I give the bike a good thrashing and this helps it click onto the next part on the adjuster. Probably not everybody's preferred method but it works for me & stops my bike sounding like sewing machine.
