DRZ 400 SM - The New Toy

Eyup folks, just picked up a k5 drz 400 sm and thought I may aswell share a pic or 2, its done approx 9000 miles, couple month tax and mot left, FMF pipe, Heated grips and I think thats about it.

Bad bits are it needs new indys and relay as current ones are flashing a bit quick but sounds like Mr Owenski has got that covered, looks like switch for brake light from front brake might be dodgy as it doesnt illuminate the brake light but the rear brake does, End of the silencer has snapped off at some point and the guys used self tappers to bodge it back on so ill have a look at sorting that and in need of a general tidy up.

Nice, I really fancy a Supermoto. Just can't think what I would use it for though. Enjoy.

Looks fun :D

What's the fuel range like on them? Can you get bigger tanks?

Owenski 02-06-12 05:11 PM

You get about 90 until reserve and about 20 on reserve and costing around £10 to fill the tank. 3 main types of aftermarket tank available the nicest of which is like hens teeth over here in the uk but the 2nd choice is a Clarke tank and that's about a third additional capacity.

Loads and loads of modding options for em but as always I'd suggest finding the most standard version as possible unless its been really well done.

Whatever you do, do NOT talk to owenski about DRZs. You will be forever poor, and in the garage.

Welcome to the best type of riding!
Also no matter much you resist it will make you poor.
