Basingstoke to Bournemouth, Sun 3rd June, 8am

New thread as other one was getting a bit clogged up.
8 am
Retail Park on A30, Brighton Hill Retail Park, contains McD's/Toys R us/PC world/Pizza Hut
Route is below:
(*if it's throwing rain down in the morning i may not be there*)
All detail is nice and easy to follow>>>
I've chosen an easy route down there
Meet at McD's, follow A30. Will lead you onto A303 for a junction or 2, then it is signposted off-> Stockbridge A30
Follow it onto Salisbury. You'll come into Salisbury on the ring road, follow signs to A338 Bournemouth. Follow it all the way (you can see on the map down) to Boscombe and head to the Sea Front/Pier. There is a Harvester there. Google Map street view it and you'll should see the car park. Bike parking is in there at the top end.

See you all tomorrow (maybe) any troubles give me a PM, i'll send out my number if needed.

So, any takers for this or are we rain checking?

I thought about joining you this morning and it's not the weather that's stopped me, but the route, too many A roads not enough smaller ones, although the A303 isn't bad the A30 is a bit boring, but have fun none the less.

Cheers Mark.

Well, due to the lack of response I'm not getting out of bed, I'd suggest if we do this another time we adjust the route to the b3400 to Andover and then down on I think the a343.

The A338 is a nice road between Salisbury and Bournemouth. chose it for the route down as it's a nice easy road. Route back was going to be via Blandford Forum up to Shaftsbury, maybe past zig zag hill.

Mark, come down after the AR and join us, we're all scratching our heads on where to go sometimes and you do have a few 100,000 more miles under your belt than the rest of us.

Its raining like a good 'un at the moment, anyone who's out in it is better have some good gear on.

When it was chucking it down last night, I made the decision not to wake up. I would do a damp ride if I had a bit of no-rides cabin fever, but having done 200 miles and taken a bum pounding yesterday, I thought I'd give it a miss. Did anyone actually go?

Don't think so. I decided Basingstoke was a bit of a boring ride if I was going to find nobody there at the end of it.

Fingers crossed for the AR then.
