Cylinder head removal -DR350?

Its for my trustworthy Dr350.
During the strip down ive come acropper with the head.

Its stuck fast to the barrel and it wont budge, tried rubber mallet and careful bit of leverage but nout.
Can move the barrel but dont think i can get the whole lot out in one go whilst its still in the frame.
Hints tips or just keep trying to nudge it until it gives way?

Thanks
Brock.

Get it out the frame.

It'll be easier in the long run

mmmm but ive done so well so far, its just the 15 year old gasket has turned into superglue.

spray some penetrating fluid in there and leave it a while. Then perhaps some careful effort with a sharp flat bladed screwdriver or scraper.

**** it a bit harder.

Use a nylon mallet if you need to go harder

Re: Cylinder head removal

suck it up and just give it one sharp smack, if that doesnt break the gasket then check everything through a million more times because no way should it be bonded like that unless someone did actually use a big ass tube of superglue lol.

15 years old though so you never know.
Its been sitting in plus gas for about an hour now so will crack out the heat gun see if i can scrape off any more of the protruding gasket and keep at it with rubber or nylon hammer.
Least the pics should be interesting once i get it off as i feel its got more carbon build up than when the mother does the bbq.

If all the head bolts are out, could you try running the engine, and leave it running....the heat and compression might do the trick.

Interesting idea!

Probably not good for the camchain though if/when it does lift
