Exhaust bracket/hanger position?

Hi guys

Only noticed this tonight but which side should the exhaust be on its hanger. Currently mine is on the outside.

Cheers

i believe the outside is correct. You want it to be held securely between the bolt head and the foot rest

That doesn't look very neat to me, note the way the hanger is skewed in relation to the footrest bracket.

But you have an aftermarket can, (Remus? They often have fixed rather than strap hangers), so where the original exhaust is cut and the shape of the link pipe dictate the precise position of the can, that might be the best that can be done with your bike. If it were mine I'd see if I could do better, I doubt the hanger will ever end up inside the bracket but rotating the link pipe might neaten it up a bit.

Neither is correct - as above the specific installation and parts will mean the best fit may be either side. That said most are on the inside, but there's no such thing as 'right', and why would it matter if it's under the bolt or the nut? It comes to the same thing, as long as it's fitted correctly which may include spacers washers etc etc dependent on exact can/lin pipe/bike.
