Storage for the SV?
 

Hi guys, picking up my first SV on Tuesday, just wondering where you guys store your bikes?

Im looking at buying a shed for it, 10x6 windowless, would this be ok due to condensation? I have read a lot about these going funny over the winter in sheds etc.

I have stored mine in 10x8 metal shed for a year now and so far so good. I have seen some condensation, but not on a regular basis by any means. It may depend on where you live, as I'm in the south west. I'm sure you will be ok if you keep and eye on your SV and not lock it up for months on end without opening the door.

Mines stored under a car port with just my cover over it for a little more protection and it's fine

Mine was fine in a 8x6 wooden shed. Make sure you get one with a door big enough to get the bike through! Mine had double doors, which helped a lot.

Yeah i been looking at the ones with double doors, i was tempted to have a go at building it myself.....but i dont think that would go to well lol

I have a rather cold damp garage and a can of ACF50. No worries about rusting parts or stuff like that. If you have a power line suitable, get power into your shed and run a battery trickle charger thingie too, especially if you run an alarm.

If I could get away with it, my bike would be stored in the flat, next to the radiator and under a blanket so it does not get covered in owl poo! Sadly, wifey wont let me bring Sylvie in. :D

Mine lives on the drive under an Oxford Stormex cover and has done for the 4 years I've owned it.

Get a bag of Kontrol Krystals and a couple of the containers to put them in from your local hardware store, they will get most of the condensation out of the air, one bag only £5 will last a year, useful if you can't run a permanent power supply to your shed.
