Isle of Wight attractions..
Am hopping over for the day with the kids in a couple of weeks (Lymington - Yarmouth) and was wondering if someone could recommend a nice beach area or any other good places to take the kids to. Thanks, KJ xx

Osbourne House, Queen Victoria's summer place
Carisboke Castle Plenty of nice beach's from memory, Alum Bay is a beach where there are lots of different coloured sand. http://www.iwight.com/placestogo/def.../just_visiting There's loads of stuff to do PM Lone Wolf, he's probably working away for the Summer, but he's a resident of the Island |

Re: Isle of Wight attractions..
Last time I went there Alum Bay had turned into a dreadful tourist trap and nothing like the interesting place I remember from the late 80's. Several nice sandy beaches so stick to those if that's what you're after. Can't remember which ones are which though now...

Go people watching, the locals are pretty interesting, with their unmatching leg lengths and webbed hands and feet

Shanklin is very nice. Stayed there a few years back for a long weekend. Plenty of pubs/restaurants and the beach is good.
