Can anyone recommend any hotels in Annecy ?

Anyone stayed in a reasonably priced hotel or travel lodge type place in Annecy?

I'm going to France for 10 days in just over 7 weeks, we are mainly staying in etap/ formula 1 type places but they tend to be out of the towns and cities, but we want to spend time in Annecy so would prefer something fairly central with bike parking etc if possible.

Cheers

No, but perhaps go through Tripadvisor to find some reviews. I've done other trips through the usual portals of Expedia and Laterooms. See what folk say on the reviews

Here's a Hostel in the centre of Annecy, cheap but just refurbished

No probs,

I think this hostel site is quite good as so long as you don't mind not having some of the hotel facilities its a bloomin cheap way of staying overnight.

But staying in etape's & formula 1's is good, the guy who works at my local tyre fitters did a French trip that way, comfortable bed & showering facilities means you don't have to lug so much stuff with you.

That's what I'm hoping, I would've preferred to camp tbh but the wife won't for 10 days.
Campsites give you more options IMO but hey ho.

I will eithe use etap or formula 1 premier (or whatever it's called) as these have ensuites which is better when you've got a woman with you ;)

Yes, they do like their home comforts don't they :p

Mind you, at my age I can't be arsed with tents & foam mats anymore, I'd rather slum it in an Etape, Formula 1 or Ibis. Even at the AR I'd opt for the bunkhouse and put up with Dicky Tickers snoring, than camp if I can help it. Plus ear plugs weigh a lot less than a tent :D

Keep the thread updated Phil, we are off in a fortnight and may end up there. Be interested in anything you turn up.

IBIS is the next step up from ETAP Phil, same hotel group (Accor). Similar cost to a premier travel inn or travel lodge in a city centre here (ie: 55 quid odd)

I know it sounds tight Col, but i don't really wanna be spending £55 a night tbh, over 10 days that makes a big dent into my limited budget :(

If i can spend £30-£35 ish that makes a huge difference.

Most nights, it is just literally gonna be somewhere to sleep and get a shower (no rude comments here)
