Bike journey check list?
right guys, im off to cornwall tomorrow night, 360 motorway miles, will be about a 1000 mile round trip. so tomorrow im preping the bike,
so what things should check for the long journey? thanks Josh |
Re: bike check list
Tyre pressure,
Oil level, Chain tension, Clutch line, Lights(?) Anusol. |
Re: bike check list
so pretty much done them all today all ready, cool.
anusol? cheers Dyzio |
Re: bike check list
better idea.. don't take the MW. unless your used to MW miles for long distance you will get tired, board, numb etc.etc. take the scenic route m8 even if it adds 50 odd miles.
i'd be tempted to do something like this instead http://goo.gl/maps/M1sy5 |
Re: bike check list
i did it earlier this year, manchester to cornwall, wasnt to bad. did stop every 120 miles to fuel up and relax for 15 minutes
|
Re: bike check list
stop every 120 miles.. your a better man than me as i stop every 50-60 miles on long hauls. it makes it less of a task more of a pleasure.

Re: bike check list
i just want to hurry and get there, its holiday :D i only stop cause im fueling up. once i get going, music on, plodding on up there, i love it

+1 on skipping the MW I enjoy the journey is as much as the destination. |
Re: bike check list
Only thing I would add is brake fluid level check and take a peak at your coolant reservoir.

Re: bike check list
As Dyzio's list, but I'd add in a check of all-round tyre condition. I almost went for a ride last year with our lass ont back until I checked the tyre and found a nail!
