Curvy Exhaust change, bike runs differently.

Morning all

I recently changed my SV exhaust over from a Motad Venom Race can to a stock can because the race can was too loud although it was road legal.

I have a few questions:
  1. The bike feels much more responsive and accelerate quicker, why?
  2. Engine braking isn;t as vicious, doesn't attempt to throw me over the front anymore, why?
  3. Tank range has gone up by 20-30 miles per tank, why?

Any suggestions greatly received.

The engine is "tuned" to the standard exhaust, so will run better.
I noticed that mine was far more "lumpy" with a race can fitted

The fecker(sorry if it was you:rolleyes:) that changed it first time around didn't get dyno time on it to have it set up for the new exhaust. Even changing from stock airfilter to a sport/racing one you should get dyno time not only if your after performance gains, but also to have it run smoother.

No it wasn't me, I got it with a K&N and a beaten up old Carbon Can Co can but i just swapped it over to another race can and have now gone back to stock.

Its so much smoother with the stock exhaust.

I use the stock aswell, 102db is the limit on bikes at tracks here in Norway, my Akra Titanium full race system is a bit to loud some might say.
