A word of warning when selling your bike!

So ive been having a bit of trouble with the Daytona i bought in May, the chap who sold it left the number plate visible in his pictures on Gumtree. Well, i though no bother whats the worst that can happen? Right?

Over the last few weeks ive received 5 NIP's for this bike as well as a few taking petrol without paying allegations. Fortunately i responded to them in totality with a written explanation that i wasn't even in the country during the time along with pictures. The bikes description was that of a black one ( luckily for me the 650 is VERY yellow :P) so i am/was in the clear.

AAAaaanyway to cut to the chase on this one it turns out the little scrote that has cloned the bike has committed a drive by shooting on it. Resulting from a nice visit today from the police eliminating me finally from the inquiry and informing me that i may conceivably trigger ANPR machines and be chased by armed response units and helicopter units!

I also now qualify for a reg mark so happy days!

so if it gets nicked there's a stronger than average chance that you'll get it back fairly smartish ;-)

wow i would love to think what you'd do to this (clearly veru kind) chap if you ever met him, do they have any idea where he is? thats shocking that some complete pr*ck could do it and get away with it especially the drive by bit

So what's to stop anyone cloning a plate simply from seeing your bike/car on the road or in a car-park etc? I guess the lazy scrotes simply look on t'internet while mouldering in bed, saves them getting up.

I've always thought this. When people blur out their reg I'm just like well anybody could see your reg on the road?

I blame chavs :)

So attack anyone on a gsxr 600 in a hoodie, shorts, trainers/flip flops and no gloves in a cheap helmet popping wheelies down the local high street?

I like this plan!
