Why don't I have proper eyebrows?
 

I read about a woman this week who has had her eyebrows filled in using hair transplants from her neck after overplucking as a teenager. Then I read in a fashion magazine about bushier eyebrows being in this winter. Ridiculous and the reason I normally don't read such trash.

But it did get me thinking, why do I have such minimalist brows. Why don't they grow like those sported by Brooke Shields? And why when I have dark red hair are my pathetic spinderly eyebrows black?

I'm a natural blonde, my eyebrows are extremely fair. You can hardly see them.
Over the years, my hair has gotten slightly darker than in years gone by, my flippin eyebrows haven't!

Ever heard of someone dying their hair to match their eyebrows? Well I do, if I decided to go brunette or just a really dark shade, I'd look like one of them emo freaks that shave them off!!
Thankfully son no 1, is as blonde as me, with blue eyes, so everyone thinks I don't dye it :)

A few centuries ago, you would've been rounded up and press ganged into the circus, where you would live out your days branded as a half woman, half organutan, thin eyebrowed freak, and my job would've been to have whipped you for the pleasure of onlookers, and I would've enjoyed it.

We were both just born a few centuries late Clare. That's all.

From a male perspective think yourself luck,mine have started growing like grey bushes and I have to constantly trim them back.

Perhaps I should have a Rooney and use the excess hair which grows in my ears nose and eyebrows:)

That's why I have a fringe, I do nothing with my eyebrows, occasionally pluck a particularly adventurous couple of hairs but I'm not wasting my time shaping them when they're covered up most of the time anyway and match my natural hair colour, a dark blonde. Someone I know had her eyebrows tinted darker the other day so they matched her normal hair colour. Fringes, are they in this season? I would have no idea, I think I was born with one :lol:

I too have almost non existent eyebrows. Another redhead but no match between hair colour and the colour of the eyebrows that are actually there...

mainly because I am now finding a disturbing amount of grey eyebrow hairs. I don't have enough in the first place to be plucking out flippin' grey ones :-(

If I need to look smart, I do have an eyebrow pencil, but I prefer to be very cautious with it as I would look absolutely stupid if I had Brooke Shields eyebrows!

I used to have a secretary who shaved her's off and then drew them where she wanted. It looked stupid, but you cannot go upsetting your staff with comments about their appearance.

The wife describes mine as antennae and when I now go for my head shaved the nice lady also grooms my eyebrows as well. Not got to TD's ear wilderness stage yet though.
