Fitting EU headlight question.

Hi All

I have a UK SV650S which was first registered in November 2001 but it was, at that time, the brand new 2002 version of the bike. As I now live in France I need to change the headlight from UK to European in order to get the bike registered with a French plate (obligatory if you live in France).

I have been told that the headlight on the SVs changed around 2002 - on mine, both headlights come on for Dipped and Main but I was informed that on some later models which look exactly the same from the outside but they are actually different because only one headlight is used for Dipped and the other headlight is used for Main and so the connectors might not work.

Can any one shed any light on this? I am looking out on all the European ebay and similar sites for any headlights but need to make sure anything I buy will fit my bike.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Cheers

Re: Headlights

you want the european version, one light is standard (for dipped beam) and the other is a projector (for main), all versions of the headlights were either UK or EU versions, the change of shape was from 03 (first pointy shape bikes), so any year from 02 backwards will fit.

Cheers Mark.
